Sandia Area Federal Credit Union has been offering a better banking experience since 1956, with lower rates, fewer fees, and a focus on helping members. We provide nationwide access, secure services, and are committed to supporting your financial goals.
Sandia Area was chartered in 1956 with a simple mission: provide better banking and lending to underserved members, principally those serving on Albuquerque’s military base. We were Sandia Base Military Federal Credit Union then, opening with just 28 members, $555 in deposits, and a dream.
Wow, have we grown!
Kirtland Air Force Base became a strong heartbeat of our community, and our mission grew beyond the gates to include our entire community living and working in the shadow of the Sandia Mountains and beyond.
We’re now proud to serve nearly 90,000 members in New Mexico and nationwide with fantastic loan rates, rewarding savings rates, strong financial tools and guidance, and one vision—to empower lifelong achievement through better banking.
