Sandia Area Federal Credit Union Opens New Santa Fe Branch

Sandia Area Federal Credit Union announced today the opening of its newest branch conveniently located on the Santa Fe Southside at Cerrillos Road and Tierra Contenta Drive.

The new Main Street branch brings a true Main Street banking experience. The inviting contemporary design, by Studio Southwest Architects, is pure Santa Fe style, with brown stucco walls, recessed windows, and generous entry portales. Inside the large modern lobby, exposed steel beams frame views of the Sangre de Cristos. Contributions by local artists include a mural of the Sandia Mountains, as viewed from Santa Fe.

“Currently, we serve over 4,500 members in Santa Fe and over 75,000 members overall, providing this new branch allows us to work more closely with existing and new members,” CEO Paula Peknik said. “We are excited to expand our services to more Santa Feans.”

Sandia Area has been part of the community in Santa Fe since 2014 when they acquired Permaculture Credit Union. Since then, they have developed relationships within the Santa Fe community and support organizations such as St. Elizabeth Shelter, the Empty Stocking Fund, STEM Santa Fe, and The Food Depot.

With the expansion of this new branch, Sandia Area hopes to create stronger ties with the city and community of Santa Fe and truly bring Banking Different to the City Different.
